Ulusaba is Sir Richard Branson’s private game reserve in South Africa's Sabi Sand. Ulusaba has 20 rooms and suites spread over two lodges: Rock Lodge, including the beautiful Cliff Lodge, and Safari Lodge. The name Ulusaba means ‘place of little fear’, so named because the koppie, or hill, on which Rock Lodge sits provided the ancient Shangaan tribal warriors with the perfect lookout point.
Safari Lodge fits snugly under a canopy of ancient trees on the edge of a dry riverbed. Some rooms are accessed by swing bridges and have views of passing animals on their way to the watering hole.
This private suite beside the Main Lodge has its own entrance through a walled garden with a sociable fire pit. It has a separate, spacious lounge that opens onto a large viewing deck with plunge pool, outdoor shower and private dining table for up to eight guests. There’s an en-suite bathroom with a separate WC and an additional guest bathroom next to the lounge.
The Safari Suite can be interconnected with the Safari Room to sleep up to four guests.
